Help with an acceleration mission

Postby bigfootcock » Mon Jun 30, 2008 6:53 pm

Could someone kindly tell me how to change from the helicopter to the DC 3 in the "save the rhino" mission.  I've the landed the copter in the little helipad and the copilot tells me to get in the DC3 and fly it to the next airport, except I cant get out of the copter and into the goonie!! >:(  I cant find a command anywhere.  Or is there maybe something wrong with the program?  Thanks in advance, bigfoot.

I don't have Acceleration, but a similar senario is the "Tokyo Executive Transport" mission in the basic game.  In that one, once you land the heli at the airport after picking up the Exectutive, an options window pops up and you select "Yes" or "No".

I take it no option menu is popping up?  Perhaps, just hitting a "1" or a "2" might work, even if no option window pops up? (Or a "Y" for yes or "N" for no....)

Just a shot in the dark.  Good luck!

Does it not allow you to simply open up the aircraft selection menu, and load the DC-3?

Nope, thanks for the advice but sadly it did not work.  No menu option, pressing 1 or 2/ Y or N produced no reaction.  Has anyone else experienced this?   :-?   Thanks again in advance for any help/info. bigfoot.

It happend to me once but only because I landed short of the marked spot, then drifted to the spot. Nothing happend so I had to restart. I take it we must land on the spot directly.

Also make sure you have NO add-ons installed for that area. Installing add-ons like eg. Mesh could possibly result in moving the landing spot which will result in a change in the "Event trigger".

I had a mesh installed for South Africa, when I did saving the rhino mission it did not want to continue either. I had to remove it to finish.

Hope it helps.

Flying Mouse nailed it.  If you touch down even for a split second off the marked landing area you may as well start from your last save point.  I make it a habit to save missions in progress before critical flight phases (i.e. landings) just so I don't have to start from scratch, especially in helos.  Landing those things is a black art.
