Nick, I have quite often seen you recommend to turn off "Enhance AA" in nHancer. Why is this? Personally I prefer using it as there is no reduction in quality (that I can see), but I have an increase of up to 10-20fps and a lot smoother. Isn't it more logical to allow FSX to select what to apply AA to, then let nHance apply the AA setting than forcing AA for the whole frame?

If you think it runs and looks better on your system, by all means.. run it that way

Go to C:\Windows\Prefetch

You should now only see 2 files in there similarly named:

LAYOUT.ini
NTOSBOOT-B00DFAAD.pf

NOTE: If you DO NOT SEE THOSE FILES you probably shut down the TASK MANAGER which is a NO NO!! ONLY SHUT DOWN THE SERVICES I POSTED ABOVE IN THE LIST. UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING LEAVE THE REST AT DEFAULT

BLACK VIPER IS DANGEROUS... DONT TURN OFF SERVICES UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Many of the services posted at black vipers site should NOT be shut down!

If you have any other files in that folder, delete them now but leave the files NTOSBOOT and LAYOUT.ini alone.

Ah, just a question regarding a clean install - I just uninstalled FSX for a fresh start after forgetting to back up some files and overwriting those files, but forgot to delete the folder it left behind after uninstalling - I am now reinstalling FSX, along with Acceleration.

Will my experience be adversely affected by leaving that folder behind?

Judging by your post, I guess it will be fine. All that was left I believe, was the Project Opensky 747 LCF Dreamlifter (for FS9). No gauges, no effects left, I think.

I would only slipstream SP2

If you want the SP3 service pack install it after Windows goes in

For the new beta nhancer 2.4.0.6 that allows the service option to be turned off during install;  should I turn this off?  Run nhancer without the service?  What's the diff anyway?

I installed but I do not have an FSX profile available.  How do I get one?
