Might just be some computer problems, but you can insert disc one, and chose the 'repair' option.

I can't remember whether or not it deletes anything, but all files will be restored.

I do NOT recommend the repair option if you have installed FSX + some SPs + some addons already.
If your sim is messed up, it's most likely because of some addon that overwrote something.

In any case, if you have some time to loose:
- uninstall the major addons (those that appear in the uninstall menu)
- uninstall you FSX properly (first the SPs, then FSX)
- remove all of the remaining files (addons will not get deleted otherwise)
- check the registry, to see if everything about FS has deissapeared
- check the folder where FSX.cfg was, make sure there's nothing left in there, revmode everything
- go to the properties of the hardrive that contained FSX, and select the error-check with automatic correction. That needs a reboot
- so reboot
- watch the error-check running
- defrag the drive that contained FSX
- now you can start the install.

Id do what Daube instructed, but does this happen everytime?
Maybe you have to turn down the settings then restart your computer and it might change or is it like this everytime you play?

I really know nothing about computers, but would it work if you installed add on taxi way textures? Try this.
