I do NOT recommend the repair option if you have installed FSX + some SPs + some addons already.
If your sim is messed up, it's most likely because of some addon that overwrote something.
In any case, if you have some time to loose:
- uninstall the major addons (those that appear in the uninstall menu)
- uninstall you FSX properly (first the SPs, then FSX)
- remove all of the remaining files (addons will not get deleted otherwise)
- check the registry, to see if everything about FS has deissapeared
- check the folder where FSX.cfg was, make sure there's nothing left in there, revmode everything
- go to the properties of the hardrive that contained FSX, and select the error-check with automatic correction. That needs a reboot
- so reboot
- watch the error-check running
- defrag the drive that contained FSX
- now you can start the install.
