I'm also running a 7950 (mines GX2) and SP2 and am having exactly the same probs as your original post. I turned down settings and it happens a lot less now and I havent had a 'broken plane' since.

Try the lastest drivers too.

You can get this from bufferpools being too high

On a 512 card they should never be set much higher than 15000000 (15MB) and even that is pushing it

Baring that, overheat, overclocked too high or drivers

Wow, can you realy push it as far as 15 Mb on a 512 Mb graphic card ?
I've never set it higher than 8 Mb on my 8800 GTS, so maybe I should try an higher value ?

Also, Nick, don't you think the TBM value can have an influence on the problem described by Str!ker ?

In the first screenshot, I can see a very dense autogen, 6 FPS only and the FPS set to unlimited. I think the system is completely overloaded with the current settings.

Autogen should be set to a lower density.
Autogen should be limited with the tweaks in the FSX.cfg.
FPS should be limited to a wiser value like 20 or something.
Then check if it happens again.

A 8800GTS 640?

You have enough overhead on a single monitor to go to 45000000

Read this thread to the end http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1212634135

pulling back on sliders and settings is not always the best thing to do
