Yet another noob question...

Postby brettt777 » Thu Jun 05, 2008 6:21 pm

One of the things I liked about CFS2 over FS9 was having weapons, but FS9 of course, had the better scenery. So my noob question is...can I make weapons work in FSX?

FSX isn't a combat game, it's a flight simulator. There are various weapon effects that you can download, but they're just effects, and don't affect anything.

If you want a combat sim, there's the combat flightsim series, and other combat simulators out there that you can buy

I thought you were talking to me, and it almost sounded like you were offering me the effect files, but I was politely turning it down

By following the installation instructions.  Then you will have to tweak the aircraft.cfg file in order to get the effects to propperly lign up with the possition of the guns.

FSX offers the possibility to simulate weapons now.
The recently released payware A-6 Prowler (or was it an Intruder ?) has droppable bombs, and via the mission-system you can actually destroy targets.

There's another payware developper which is working on a F-16 that will allow you to dogfight with cannons and sidewinders with another player using the same plane.

Appart from this stuff, everything else is just effect, visual stuff with no impact on anything.

Actually if you go to the Misc Section for FSX you can download a weapon packs comes with bombs and missles a bunch of them. Also they are droppable the bombs blow up when you hit th ground. The only problem is the missles theyare unguided but other than that is pwns. It is in the Misc for FSX!!
