Groundhandling panel problem?

Postby tcco94 » Tue May 27, 2008 10:30 pm

I downloaded Rob Barendregt Groundhandling panel. Im having problems with it. The picture you are suppose to put in the panel folder of your aircraft should be a BMP file but this is a GIF file. When I start up the airplane it shows a small black blank box. When I go to views, panels, then groundhandling it's the same thing.
Can anyone help me that has this panel or tell me what the problem is..?
Ive downloaded all the correct files to there places.
Thank you.. ;)

As nobody else replied I checked this out for you. The GIF image is for information only. The gauge BMPs are contained in the gauge itself. Makes sure you pasted RCB_Groundhandling5.CAB into FSX\Gauges. Do NOT extract it.

Note: I only have the FSX Demo so cannot test it properly. It's possible that this gauge is not fully compatible with SP1 or SP2.

Okay well I went back and delted the cabnet file and then pasted the same one in not extracted into the guages folder. Alll the other files it looks like goes into the sound folder....

Does that sound right? :-?

This is what it says in the Readme:

2. Installation
===============
Note: "FSX" is shorthand for your main FSX folder.
(default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ )

Extract all files to a temporary folder, and then:

- Create a subfolder \Groundhandling5\ in the main "FSX"\Sound\ folder.
- Move all files *.wav AND sound.ini to folder "FSX"\Sound\Groundhandling5\
- Move files Groundhandling5_Sound.dll AND rcb_groundhandling5.cab to folder
 "FSX"\Gauges\.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT UNZIP THIS .CAB FILE !!

It stills shows up black  >:(

Is creating a subfolder for all the sound files like a normal folder inside the sound folder

Right?

If you installed the gauge correctly it's possibly a display problem. I don't know if you have SP1 or SP2.

Yes but the sound shouldn't affect the visual display.

Thats what I thought it was. Well when I went to the home dash on fs it said you havent installed the updates so I did. So im guessing i have SP2

I'm getting out of my depth here as I can't check ths out for you. If you installed this addon correctly it's quite possible it's not fully compatible with SP2. Sorry but I did my best.

Cabinet files are compressed like zipfiles. What this means is not to extract the file named RCB_Groundhandling5.CAB. Paste the file into FSX\Gauges.
