TROUBLE WITH SEEING THE NEW CESSNA CITATION 500

You can tell me anything Onboard video are so limited I have 3 PC the bigger one the one which has the activation has a small agp FX6200 Nvidia, my son's PC has a MMX 440 128 ram many watter effect are missing ,but the plane looks gret in it.. and I have one in wich I look tv on it ,It has an ATI all In wonder A very old video card and I can see the plane model at this moment..

Sorry your gonna have to buy a video card , the problem is ,of those 230 airplanes you said you have ,How many original made FSX-SDK using dds do you have? ,...besides the default models

I'd have to look at them to find out.  Urk!I know the CRJ700 is, but I don't know if that's FSX-SDK (unless that's how to ID a FSX-SDK)  I'll have to get back on that (there are a few with both bmp's and DDS's too, like the Cessna 337.)

All the default models including the CRJ700 (if that's the default one) uses DDS technology and uses 1024 x1024 textures ,it will be well renderize

You need more memory in you graphic in better words a video card, even the cheapest one will display the plane

Calm down eric ,I made airplanes , and I'm Part of Simviation since I was a kid......... well Not that long , since 2003 , the best and most secure place to download is Simviation.com  don't go anywhere else..

about the SDK is software develpment kit for FSX ,its a package to build planes ,and don't ask me who to make them otherwise Im holding a 45 magnum here I will blow my head off  ;D

WELL IM IM REALLY LOOKING FOR IS A CITATION THATS GOOD THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD WITH ANY PROBLEM, A HAWKER 800 AND A LEARJET DOES ANYONE HAVE GOOD SUGGESTIONS

Well, here's the list, but i think the consensis is that it's a graphics memory problem.

Let's do an experiment.  Any other aircraft out there that use 2048 X 2048 dds files (or BMP's.  The ov10A is all BMP, but is a ghost)

You're better off without it. Those Thumbs.db files shouldn't be there & are more likely to cause problems.

Those are created by Windows whenever you have Views/Thumbnails or Views/Filmstrip enabled in the Explorer window...

They are perfectly harmless to pets, people and files...

I did take the time to fix the texture.cfg file. MS/ACES made a boo-boo with their default texture.cfg file.

The correct texture.cfg file is:

fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Texture


Note the corrected fallback.3 entry points to the default FSX\Texture folder, where several .dds files that are critical are located...

MS/ACES had left fallback.3 pointing to another folder on their development computer and never corrected the boo-boo...

If ANY bitmap is either missing or not found, you will see what at least two persons in this thread have reported.  ::)

Thanks, Fr. Bill.  Downloaded, and first, I got a black aircraft, then I get ghosts, then a couple fo floating points, probably lights, and a pair of shoes.  Seriously!  The pilot's shoes!  Kind of spooky looking.

The OV-1B and OV-1D also show up as "ghosts" except for the glass and a few minor details, like lights and small blade antenna.  Yet the OV-1C (US Customs paint job) shows up perfectly.  Same download package, though each has it's own "aircraft" folder.  The "answer" is probably buried in there.

I'll check that texture.cfg thing tomorrow.  Thanks for the Navion tip.  It's another data point.

Only thing is the screetching sound from the jet, I fly long distances whilst reading magazines and the sound is killing me  :-/
