If you buy a brand new car and after a few days you experience some problems, you go back to your dealer, slam your fist on the table and demand a solution.
If you buy a brandnew MP3 player and after a few days you experience some problems, you go back to your dealer, slam your fist on the table and demand a solution.

Going back to the dealer and slamming my fist on the desk and demanding a solution would not be my first choice.  I find a polite approach generally gets better and faster service.  I would also be a little more detailed in telling them what sort of problems I was experiancing.

If you buy the latest version of MS Flight Simulator and after a few days you experience some problems, WE SIMPLY ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THIS IS A MICROSOFT PRODUCT WHICH COMES PER DEFINITION AND PER DEFAULT WITH BUGS, PROBLEMS AND UNEXPLAINABLE PROBLEMS. We don't go back to the dealer, we don't complain. We simply sit back, take a deep breath and find an excuse or search every thinkable forum to find a solution. In this quest for our solution we most of the time fine a zillion other enthousiastic FS users with other frustrations and problems. But no user (READ: customer who paid for the product) who dares to challenge the evil emperium of Microsoft.
We, the customers should get paid for all the continuous "beta-testing" we're doing with the PRODUCTION VERSION of the release....
Is FS going in the same directions as Windows.... too heavy and too big to handle ?

That all depends on what happened. If the program worked at first, then crapped out, if it were me, I'd ask myself, "What did I just do?"  I would not jump to the conclusion that it was the software until I've eliminated "operator error" (That would be 'me').  That's not to say it's not the software. (I also don't think the "Latest and Greatest" FS is "beta", since it's been out since 2006(?) or so).

If I decided it wasn't me, I'd double check my system vs the system requirements for the program.

Could you be more specific as to the problems you are having?

This is a touchy subject around here.. I wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets locked.

Here's the reality:

No software is without bugs..

90% of the FSX problems are hardware related; most of the rest are from non-FSX add-ons.

If you're running adequate hardware, and no add-ons that aren't 100% FSX ready (very few are); FSX will run very well, and very stable.

I'm not excusing Microsoft, but as you've pointed out, bugs and patches and service-packs are nothing new with their products; operating systems and all.

Rather than get into disputes over this post; I'll just answer the question..

What would

Agree , We all have issues with FSX ,and many like me having a very small pc , a agp nvidia 6200 and 1gbram and a P4 , and I could handle by reading many tricks in this site, I feel confortable with FSX sp2

,I know its frustrating , but I suggest you calm down ,and rather explain the problem ,give us your specs and we maybe may be able to help you.

Not trying to stir up anything here... just trying to make a point.
But I guess you're right, this is not the forum to have such a discussion.
Perhaps we could open a new forum, dedicated to customer awareness regarding Microsoft's market policy on the FS product.

Not that Mr. Balmer would care less, but at least I would be more than happy to learn if there are more people out there who are fed up with Microsoft's sloppy so called product development.

Cheers

Probably the only thing more common on the internet, than complaining about Microsoft, is pornography

What if you go to the dealer and Instead he tell's you Nothing's wrong with the car , its just this car doesn't work with regular gas , its a hydrogen car...

What I mean is there's nothing can not be fix by some of us, Among us as a member we have one of the designer of Microsoft Flight Simulator X , He helps people here , and also we have the Magician Nick , But you  start with the wrong foot..

as I said I had my issues at the begining ,and I'm not new in this , I being buying MSFS since FS98 , my machine is a small one ,still though , I don't complaint at all ,Yes It had a lot of issues ,But most of them has being fix, and It is the best and most realistic flight Simulator ever done ,all you have to say its start again and in a positive way ask for help here ...and sure you will get it

I'm happy to hear that most of you are content with what MS gave us.
Perhaps it's just my nature to sometimes question how things are. Sometimes, I wonder what FS would be like without any issues.... just the pure pleasure of simulating flight, soaring the skies and enjoying the beautifull landscapes created by artists.
No hassle with FPS, Add-ons, fine-tuning to match hardware feasibility, staring at the screen of death wondering wtf did I do now, not spending hours searching for this one clue that might help. Just flying, the way we imagined the product to be before we bought it.

Well, case closed, this discussion does not belong here indeed. Please remove it from the posts. I thank you and wish you all a trouble free FS-evening.

Perhaps that should happen! Then the consumer would have no excuse for not knowing that Microsoft offers a 90 day money back guarantee on Flightsimulator X...

...that's right, you could have simply contacted MS to ask for a refund...

If you didn't like it, then take it back to the store.

Gee, if that happened, whatever would we talk about in all these forums!
