NickN Worship

Postby Plugpennyshadow » Wed Apr 30, 2008 10:31 pm

I genuflect? (spelled right?) at NickN's feet.  I grovel for more morsels of makee computee workee rightee...

I mean...Loss for words...I have been running XP Pro since it first came out.  Had to buy a version with SP2 on the install disk, but NEVER has it run as good as it does now.  Did all the steps in Nick's tweak sticky.  AKAKFJALKFDLLADJKJLARFKJ!

EVERYTHING RUNS BETTER!  From Adobe to Quicken to my WOW ZBoard!  And lets not talk about how WOW runs!  FSX running at 28FPS unless I get into the high-def cities!  It then craps out to 18-20...OH DEAR!

Nickster, you are the man!  Thanks and know that at least one hairy backsided fat trucker appreciates what you have done!

I believe that the psychological trauma caused by that mental image has reduced Nick to a catatonic state .....

It may be some time before we get an intelligent reaction from Nick...

Horrible image - it'd make you want to give up trucks.

But amen, and amen.  Nick has indeed been the guide for many, and without him we would still be in FS9 and missing out on the goodies of X.

He doesn't get too ratty with us, keeps his cool, and answers our repetitive questions.  But don't tell him your hardware is old and slow, or he'll tell you to get real, real soon.

I have the feeling though, that he probably has his wife doubling around the bedroom as he calls the step!!

Likewise on speeeedy XP!  Only the savy need pay attention.  I have all those juicy little tidbits of Guru teachings tucked away in an archive and I follow it religeously each & every time I reinstall my OS.  The only thing that EVER slows this baby down is FSX.  I can't imagine going to Vista and having it be faster or more reliable then XP setup is now.

The image of having a wife is about as psychologically traumatic  as the other

No Jamaican here maan...But I am someone who genuinely appreciates the work of someone like Nick.  I'd buy him a tall one if I could.

Anyone play Fighters Antholoy (Electronic Arts) or Fleet Command (Sonalysts)?  Both games were released with significant bugs and deficiencies.  Folks like the 714th Virtual Squadron and the gang at the Naval Warfare project site kept the respective games going and even improved them.  Too bad the companies didnt license the games to these organizations.  They would have re-written them and made them uber games.  Chris and the gang at NWP tried to get Sonalysts to do just that.  No joy...And yet these folks kept plugging at work-arounds and tweaks for the games?  Just because they wanted to make the experience that much better...And all for free?...

Nick is now added to the list of the Great and the Good.

And if Nick is in the Continental US, I just might buy him that tall one some day!

And the hairy backside bit was the cleanest thing I could think of to make folks here groan, chuck or swear off nude beaches...

And this thread is getting out there, I beleive...

Just thanks to ya, Nick.  Every PC in the house (5), as well as those of my family and friends are running with your tweak.  Everyone is blessing you.

Keep up the good and keep the shiny side up...And stay out the ditches...and, well, I could go on...

No, that's really his alter ego.  Nick is really twins with the same name.
