Also, Flight Sim has built in lessons that teach you the basics of different types of flying all the way up to a passenger jet.  They do leave things out, and the checkrides are buggy, but they will help you out a lot.  They work like a virtual instructor telling you what to do as you fly. I suggest you start at the beginning and work your way up.

Isn't it odd how people never think to look right in the sim itself for help? Those built in lessons really aren't bad but I bet most people never think to try them...

Well its not that I wouldent go and look at those lessons but they look so long and if I need any help my first place would be simviation becuase some of those lessons that I see on the game dont tell you stuff about like boeing jets and stuff. Or do they? :-?

in your stead I would advise you to go through the lessons step by step. They don't (at least at the beginning) tell you anything about Boeings ect., but you'll learn and understand how to maneuver a plane (handling and navigating). You'll soon see FSX not as a game but as a simulator!  :)

In FSX the last group of lessons actually do have you fly a jet airliner.  I believe they teach you general flight first, and then move on into descents from altitude and ILS landings.

It would be very challenging to jump right into the jet lessons though. Most likely you would get some terminology that didn't make sense to you.  If you start at the beginning, then you will understand. And the best part is all of the navigation stuff you learn in a C172 will still apply to a jet.

Go to "Learning Center" > "Lessons" in the sim. To be honest with you, you probably could skip the "Commercial Pilot" lessons if you really wanted to get to the jets faster, but they are still use full.

I've been wondering the same thing for years, watching people constantly post simple questions, such as asking what the key combination for something in the simulator is, when all you have to do is open up the key assingments within FS, and see for yourself... ::)

Okay well I just wanted help. Even though I dint look at the tutorial stuff sometimes when I do use that its so damn harder sometimes and people online might know how to help a little better by showing where and what to do so I can copy what there doing. Seems like most of the people on here dont even wanna help instead they just make the person who asked looked like a dumbass. :(

You're misunderstanding us.

I was talking about something simple like a key assignment.

When it comes to advanced flying stuff, a lot of people don't want to take the time to properly learn something. They want to hop into their favorite airliner and push the 'magic landing button', and fly without learning the basics, and working up from a cessna. That's how some of us can get a little frustrated when we point somebody in the right direction to a comprehensive tutorial, but we're ignored

Okay, I see what your saying. I did missunderstand. Im very sorry. I did just look into the flying lessons on FSX by the pilot and what I just found out is that you can click (take lesson) instead of reading it all :). I think after I start going through all that stuff then I should get it down and ill post a picture  :D

Okay well im trying to get the hoops on the visual flight path to my landings instead of the ILS. When i try and tune to the radio that i wanna land at its like 138.5 or something and it only goes to 137.5?? :-? When I tell the visual flight path to be as long as it can at like an altitude of 2000 its just a straight line of 2000 ft?
Can anyone help me on this and ive even tried to go to the lessons on the FSX? :(

Ok, I hope I can help you here.  One thing that the lessons don't really help with is how to actually set the radio.  In order to change the frequencies you actually have to click the numbers.

But, the numbers of before the decimal are controlled separately from the numbers on the right of it.  There will be separate +/-  hand icon for the numbers to the left and the numbers to the right of the decimal.

Once you've set the frequency correctly, then you must click the switch button to switch the active and inactive frequencies.

It is hard to explain. I hope you can understand what I mean.  If not, maybe someone else could explain it better.

Also the ILS frequencies (VOR frequencies as well) are usually between 108.xx through 118.xx. I'm not sure if that is correct, I'm not a real pilot, but it seems like the ILS freqs are in the one hundred teens range. The communication frequencies are in the 120-130ish range.

That seems a bit harsh, considering that every question you've asked has been answered.

You asked about ILS, so I posted links to the best tutorials I know of, you then ignored those, so I posted them again because they really will help you.

People here do want to help you, but it seems that you don't want take the advice given.
