In the email based FSInsider Newsletter there is a link to a neat little insertion into the AppData file (all the directions are clearly given) which allows a key combination to bring up airport names in the immediate vicinity of the aircraft.
They float a couple of thousand feet above the airport.
Now where I live in Melbourne Australia I don't need them, but when I fly in new places like the USA, or tonight in China, I don't use them for navigation but for information - general knowledge of the world.
I just love FSX and its seemingly infinite twists.
On another topic I did a full flight from Brisbane YBBN to a coupled approach into Hong Kong VHHH. With ASX weather, and using the Save facility I was able to enjoy the trip over several days. (And a bit of 4x over the seas). The default scenery of HK is pretty darn good, and with ASX weather the heavy haze of Asia was replicated in frightening reality - I'm glad I am not an Olympic athlete. I did the flight in a Wilco A330 in Qantas livery and with MyTrafficX to give some credible company in the sky.
Let me say again, it is one heck of a sim.
