Let's see. Brett Henderson's Cessna 177 is awsome. Milton Shupe's Beech D18s, and Spartan Executive are still great, even with the prop tweaked for FSX

For flying the heavies, Jens B Kristensen's DC-4 & DC-6 are nice.... ;D

FSX is still lacking the amount of quality freeware addons that was great about FS9

Jets:  Martin Marietta X24-A, now that I got it working in FSX, followed by Firefox.

Props: Howard 500, P-38.

Commercial:  Lear 45

Miscl:  Star Wars X-Wing, after I x-fered the texture files from an earlier version so it wasn't a "black shape".  The dropship from Aliens is good too.  The dropship from HALO would be a tie with the Aliens Dropship if I coud get the rear cargo hatch to close.

Possibly change the title to...

...best add-ons? The greatest add-ons out there aren't all planes you know. ;)

There are not many good freeware add-ons out there, I can really only recommend anything designed by Alrot in the way of airplanes. They all come with a VC, and are unique subjects. Also Brett Henderson's Cessna 177 as aforementioned.

Acceleration.

Nicks Light Fix for FSX.

And PicNic.

Nothing else!

Acceleration: the one addon you absolutely must have.

"...three new planes such as the F/A-18A Hornet, EH-101 Helicopter and P-51D Mustang."

http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/fsxacceleration.aspx

Also: the P-38, esp. the demo from JustFlight.

This was done in the FS9 forum a while back and I know it was VERY helpful for me.

SO, lets here what your absolute favorite, BEST addons are for FSX..... ;)

I think you should try to be more explicit, more precise concerning what is a good plane addon for you. For some people, a plane with 2D cockpit only is a good addon, for others it's not. Tell us more selection criteria :)

That wasn't my intent at all. What my intent is, is to find what DIFFERENT peoples favorite add-ons were so people would have a wider gamut to choose from.
