Different ATC Sounds...........

Postby BuzzDatAzz » Tue Apr 15, 2008 3:38 pm

Hello All,

Is there anyway to get better ATC sounds in FSX? Rather than the robotic voices of the default ATC. I have been lookign around and i can't find anything.

Thanks in advance!!!  ;D

Hey Buzz,
Right now that is your only choice, however there is a light near the end of the tunnel.
There is a program in development that will improve the ATC somewhat called EditVoicePack. FS2004 has a full version. One of the things it does is speed up the rate of communication by having the ATC talk a bit faster as in real life. By doing that it kind of diminishes the "robot" like voice you hear. Go to http://www.editvoicepack.com/
to check it out. For FSX, There is a link to get a Community Technology Previews (CTPs). That link is under the heading "Downloading EditVoicePack."

I have not tried it yet. Maybe someone here has and can give insight

Hi all,

I've been using Editvoicepack for a number of months at the 'fast' setting,

I find it is much better than stock FSX ATC; same voices but some words are omitted when replying.

Do back up the original USEnglish file in case you want to revert.

I use the CTP EditVoicePack for FSX as well.  Not only does it seem more realistic than the default ATC, but it recognizes (by name) almost every airline livery out there.  I would recommend trying it.  If you don't like it, you can always go back.
