Alps photoreal high resolution

Postby Frank51 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 1:11 pm

I am Frank, Italian that creates Alps sceneries for FSX.
Some images of the "Dolomiti" (italy) with high resolution
The application of the textures is with a complex technical method
it deals as with a perspective graphic transformation with so ampler distorsion more the wall is vertical.  (excuse me for my English)

Image
This is the "Civetta", very known dolomite with a vertical wall of over 1200 mt. (>3600 fts)

This is the Marmolada "the queen of the dolomiti"

JUST A HEADS UP

You MUST HAVE this mesh installed for it to work   http://c30s.alpes.gratisim.fr/_ALPES_LOD11_Version2.zip

I am just a little unclear from the discussion as to the exact order of action.

Do we put Franks work on top of the Taburet VFR photoreal, with the LOD 11 mesh underpinning both??

No need to say high we know who you are already. ;) Great work. I couldn't imagine the time and effort you put in these photoreal sceneries.

Enjoy your stay here in the Simviation community.

The mesh goes into the Addon Scenery\scenery folder so it is enabled and has priority all the time. Set mesh to 10m and texture to 7cm

I am not sure where you are coming up with Taburet VFR photoreal.

Franks scenery can all go into one folder named Addon Scenery\AlpsHiRes\scenery

The high res textures are embedded in the BGL files. There are no textures, just BGL's

you can download -all of them- if you wish, or just the ones I marked in red which are the Mts Frank Posted above

Yes my sceneries are perfectly compatible with ItalVfr of Taburet
they have been built on the base of ItalVfr but with a greater resolution

The Taburet photoreal is on the SIMV FSX download site,  and Frank does say in his notes that his is designed to fit with Taburet's ItalVfr.

I assumed Frank's coverage was not as geographically extensive as the other, hence my question.

If on the other hand if Frank's is co-terminous then there would be no need.

Your pics are great Nick, pray for me as I install the set tonight (lol).

No, its just the mountains

I can deal with that because its ust the peaks and small areas around. I cant stand photoscenery. It sucks the life out of the render

Thanks Nick    ;)

I have made only the mountains, the whole region is of Taburet (Italvfr), only difference is
the region of Taburet is 2mt/pixel resolution. my mountains also 25-50 cm/pixels
but perfectly compatible!
