Mountain Rescue Mission

Postby drummer_tom » Sun Mar 23, 2008 4:06 pm

On this mission I deliver the supplies to the campers (just) then accpet the challenge to help the stranded person at medical. However I just can't get there. I have real trouble taking off and then I can't climb. I just loose to much speed and end up stalling.

Any tips? EXCEPT not accpepting the challenge.

yeah thats what i did, i ended up going around in circles for quite a while, because the air is thin you may also have to turn down your VS a bit.

Am I being stupid if I ask what VS is?

He's referring to Vertical Speed. Shallow your climb a bit.... ;)

Ah yes. I realised the meaning of VS soon after I started the mission again!

I have now completed said mission even if it did take ages  ;D

Ah I remember this mission, I could hardly climb to the first camp... until I realize that I was using manual engine mixture... set it up (I mean, down...) correctly and my engine felt immediately better :) ... but then again, this climbing to 14.000 feet (correct ?) was very hard, and I was very worried upon landing. Nice challenge, for sure.

Do you mean I should have done something with the mixture control? (Red knob)?
