Shimmer little flightsim, shimmer, shimmer.

After having completed a full reinstall, adding back the UTs, GEX and Cloud 9, all is going well except for a dreadful case of the shimmers.

Airport chain fences dancing enough to induce nausea, buildings with moire and shimmers that pull your eyes, trees waving in endless winds.

With nHancer I have 16x anistropic, and that isn't helping,  Its almost as if the card is disobeying me!

Is there a TBM and FFTF combination that might help.  I have almost too much AA and that is doing little.

You are in DX9 mode I assume..

Forget TBM and anything in the config file.. nothing to do with it, at all

Use this list?

run down the list and verify

I am on the 174.12 beta's still ...

If the list checks out, perhaps your video driver is giving you grief?

===========================

Install and run Nhancer. It does NOT need to boot with Windows or have a tray icon since the service runs in the background and will properly influence the settings. When it is first run select NO to have it run with Windows or have it place an icon on the tray.

With any driver above 163.xx Nhancer can no longer delete the profiles as it did in the past, instead the way you OVERRIDE the FSX and FS9 profiles is do the following:

Thank you to you both.  The shimmering has now disappeared.

Nick:  I am sorry to have troubled you as I know that you had posted those instructions before.   However in spite of the fact that I used the Search feature I could not locate them.

For some reason I find your AA setting too aggressive and unneeded.  I have no serious jaggies of any sort and when I check the application AA and the gamma the presentation seems fine.

Once again thanks to you both.  All is well until the next disaster!
