Where are the carriers??

Postby Mike.. » Fri Mar 07, 2008 11:07 pm

I have Acceleration and the only time I can play on the carrier(s) is in the default missions. Do they exist in free flight? If so, where? If this has been asked before sorry. Thanks in advance for any insight into this query.

i cant help ya, acceleration never showed the carriers, flight decks 3, 4, and 5 never showed the carriers either no matter what I did, settings or nuthin. I did have a carrier briefly from FD4 but not anymore. I gave up.

Lists are doing the rounds, a search will locate them.  I also released some non Acceleration and Acceleration carriers to Avsim.  These are all for free flight and are GPS compatible.  You can use the supplied airport code to start straight from the carrier deck in FSX if you choose.  They are also GPS capable whilst static and in the home port.  The Acceleration model moves at a set time and if you get on board prior to this you can sail with her.  Three different locations are used Plymouth/Lands End, Saudi (Persian Gulf) and the Aegean (Greece).

These are in Avsim, FSX Scenery category and search for FSX Carrier or look in Simviation itself.

NOTE:

My files are only a call to the present standard and/or Acceleration carrier, they do not include the carrier itself.  If FSX is set up incorrectly then these carriers and other effects do not show.  The FSX settings need to be correctly set up and an FSX type Traffic.bgl utilized rather than an FS9 type, this is often included in some traffic add ons and needs to be converted.  Both work in FSX but the FS9 type stops ships and ferries from showing, this is the same with other ships/ferries which do not use my add on files.
