FSX Military F-18 textures Stingers

On numerous occasions I have tried this texture for the FSX Acceleration F-18 Hornet, it is the "Stingers Texture" each time it does not show it in my plane menu when I installed it. I really would like to see this texture fixed so as it will show up because it looks awesome, I have loaded many textures before so I know I am installing it properly ,also I would like to know if anyone else has tried this paticular texture and having the same problem. Just downloaded the file to check it out. If you follow the author's instructions it won't display on the menu. There are two ways to fix it.

1. Rename the new texture.vfa113 folder to texture.14

OR

2. Change the texture= line in the new Aircraft.cfg entry from this:  
texture=14

to this:
texture=vfa113

Please  tell me if that worked. I don't have Acceleration so can't try it myself.
