Air Traffic Control Lesson (weird stuff)

Postby RudeandRude » Sat Feb 16, 2008 9:07 pm

I've done the ATC lesson a few times now and I get the same result every time.

I taxi and take off.  Rod takes over control of the plane.  I change frequencies and then I request Class b Airpsace.  Rod says "Sit back and fly for a while, we're going to land at Snohomish".

Problem is...10 minutes later we pass the airport while he is still flying.  I can't re-gain control of the plane.  It just goes on until Rod finally crashes into the side of a mountain.

Is this lesson messed up for everyone?  This is a pretty important lesson and I can't finish it because it doesn't work!

Aren't you supposed to press ctrl + ] to go to the next lesson? Try that maybe it will work, just a suggestion though.

I've run into that too. Kept waiting for something to happen, and by the time I said 'nuts to this', I was all the way up in Canada. Seems to be a few of the other lessons too where Rod just seems to disappear out of the plane. Is my flying that scary that he bailed out?  :o

the only way you'll get good ATC is if you flying in a real plane.

It's a trick!

Rod just want's you to stay in the aircraft forever, so he can subject you to more of his humour.

You're the only one so far that hasn't opened the door and jumped for it!

I had that happen today on an early lesson, brushing up on technique and getting used to FSX (lesson 4).  After completing the lesson I was told to climb.  So I climbed, and climbed, and climbed....  Rod sat mute as a Warren Harding at a cocktail party.  I finally hit ESC when we hit the ozone layer.  Eh.

I found (back in previous editions of MSFS) that if you didn't get something right in the flight that the program expects, the lessons were buggy like this.
