Name your favourite add-ons

Postby lupedelupe » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:15 am

Even though stock FSX is not bad, we all love to add our favorite add-ons, be it fixed-wing aircraft, rotary wing, scenery...

I am totally new to FSX, and have so far discovered the excellent PC-7 by The Piglet, and a brilliant Jet Provost. I'd love to get my hands on a good helicopter (with VC).

Payware wise the Aerosoft Dornier looks promising. And then there are always the RealAir offerings (had both in FS9, ages ago!).

Tell me what impressed your chocks off in FSX add-ons?

Well for me it's easy.
It is all the vintage birds made by Jens B. Kristensen.

For me it is Active Sky X and X Graphics is a must have,Between the two packages it leaves the FSX weather engine and the default clouds in the dust. I have not adde aircraft as yet I want to make sure Microsoft is not going to relase any more patches. Uninstalling and reinstalling FSX is no picnic. I stiil fly FS9 and that is where all my addons are for now. I could move most of them over to FSX. But like I said I want to make sure microsoft is done with the changes and fixes. 8-)

Go here if you want to see a lot more screen shots.  There's 45 pages in that thread, but well worth it.

That does look pretty cool.  I could not find a release date, or projected cost for this product.  Anyone??

First, first and first, upgrade your hardware.

AFX, UTX, FEX,GTX,GenX England and Wales, Vancouver +,UK2000 airports, VOZ X, France VFR, Wilco Airbus 1&2, Wilco Embraer Legacy, ATR, SF260, LevelD, FSD Navajo, Aussim PA28.....

As far as your pocket can stretch and that's only the payware...

Who said FSX was limited, its only your pocket and your hardware that is the problem.

Don't forget about FTX: Australia Blue coming the 28th I think, with the rest of Australia coming along with USA and Europe later in the year.

Oh yes indeed, my tongue is hanging out for it.

In the meantime I have VOX from Vista Australis which has lots of improvements.  When combined with Cloud 9 landclass it is a good interim improvement.

And the good news is that the makers of Australia Blue have joined with the UT people and a whole lot of combined effort scenery will appear.
