Grumman Goose Engine Sound problem

Postby BuggsK100RS » Mon Feb 11, 2008 10:37 am

One of the aircraft I most enjoy flying has a bit of an issue with its Engine sound.

When in the CV The Engines sound like they are at full throttle at the time in Spot View the sound is correct, I think I also have the same problem with the Mule but external view is at Full and VC is ok.  Any one got a fix for this.

PS Iv got all the newest drivers for all my Hard where I'm running FSX Deluxe Edition on Vista 63 Premium.

Try lowering the sound acceleration in DirectX.
Choose Start -> Run -> "dxdiag" and look for the slider of the sound acceleration. Set it one step back to begin, and test in FSX.

Went to that dxdiag ran it and there is no slider for the Sound acceleration tho the good news is that it didn't find any problems.

There IS a slider, in the sound tabstrip.
I've just checked right now...
Or maybe this does not exist anymore with Vista ?

You can try as well to locate this slider in the control panel, Sound, advanced button in the speakers part, performance tabstrip, and here is the slider.

Not there on the Vista version.  I think I have found the problem tho,  I have changed my Video to 16 Bit and now the full throttle sound is in the external views and the internal / VC is ok.  So as I don't use FSX  a huge amount I can live with that.  Its my fault iv got this problem my Video card is a bit of an odd version and Vista automatically rolls back the driver if I install the new one as its not for this Targa Silent pipe 6600 GT card.

O well I will live with it until iv got some cash to get a newer card.
Strange tho that a Video card is messing with my sound  :-?

I know this bug and I don't know if it is caused by soft or hardware or both.
pressing < pause > for a second should solve it.

This happens with all prop aircraft when I use FSX.
