Acceleration

Postby garymbuska » Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:30 pm

With all of the posts I have noticed about the problems with Acceleration I would like to know is it really worth all of the hassle. Beside adding a few more Missions what else does this do for FSX besides seem to create a lot of problems. It appears that after installing this you have to be carefull about what aircraft you ADD to FSX is this true or am I going overboard here.?????

True, a LOT less addon aircraft are compatible with Acceleration, but the F-18 and P-51 aircraft included are payware quality.

I guess moving on with the times requires some sacrifices...

If your computer is up to the task.. and your drivers are current.. and you stick to aircraft designed specifically for FSX only (no ports or texture conversions/patches), you'll be fine.

Edit:  It's worth it for the F-18 alone  ;)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was curious I really am not crazy about military aircraft and for the extra missions I will pass. I sort of make my own. But who knows maybe in the future I might buy Acceleration but for now I am happy with what I have. I currently have both SP1 and SP2 I do not have DX10 so I am not sure if SP2 is a DX10 only patch It has no negative effect from what I can see, but the fact i do not have DX10 fsx might just ignore it. 8-)

Acceleration/SP2 gives you the option to disable DX10 if your hardware supports it

The only difference I noted when installing "Acceleration" was the new missions and the fact that ALL of the new aircraft they include only have V/C's and no 2-D cockpit. The F-18 is flyable without the 2-D but I find it difficult at best to fly the helicopters without being able to read the gauges. Actually, not having the 2-D panel in the helicopters aggravates the heck out of me. I hope they issue an update for it.

Sorry mate, hate to burst the bubble but not going to happen.  Aces already stated the VC is the future (quote available).....  Lets hope it improves some.  Meanwhile, this should help.....
