A312 Rudder Control

Postby godsdillusion » Sun Jan 20, 2008 3:07 pm

Can anybody help. I have installed and uninstalled MS FSX soooo many times and configured and re-configured my Saitek Joystick, as the rudder controls for the A321 standard included aircraft will not function once i am airborn. The rudder functions as it should when taxing but not during flight.

Does any body have the answer.

Any help appreciated

Just from googling... That aircraft is pretty heavy...

Ruddering really won't be that greatly effective because it is so large and bulky. If it is working on ground then it is okay...

When you say it doesnt work, does the rudder (outside camera) not move atall, or does it just not affect it?

I still think it is just because the aircraft is so heavy.

It's either a bug, or that's how it actually is in the real aircraft.  Everyone has the same issue.  I think I've heard it has to do with the yaw damper, but I don't really know what to do about it.

go into realism settings, on the game and make certain that you are not enabling autorudder. I know is seems pretty obvioius, but just make sure, as I've also had this problem, but in different planes.
As was said, maybe this is how is really is, a large machine like a A321 isn't going to do very good knife-edge flight! :P

It's not about the realism system.

The fact is that the A-321 is using that new 'Fly-by-wire' system in FSX.
If you want to gain back the full control of the aircraft, you have to deactivate the flight computers in the cockpit, I think the switches are somewhere above your head, check it :)

Thanks guys, will definatley check out the flight computers overhead, autorudder is definately switched off, on outside camera view there is no rudder movement at all when in flight, it only functioning on the ground.
