SP2 Loading Problem

I installed SP1 with no problem but with SP2 no joy.
I downloaded and installed (tried to) fsx_sp2_JPN from download.microsoft.com. It went to a Temporary Folder. What followed was a window "Internet Security Warning" appeared asking if I want to run the software. When I clicked on"RUN", a "Windows Installer" box appeared with the yellow error sign and stating "Microsoft Flight Simulator Service Pack 2 followed by a small box figure and below it "Flight Simulator X followed by a series of small box-like figures. When I clicked "OK", another window showing the yellow error sign stating Microsoft Flight Simulaotr X Service Pack 2 and again followed by several small boxes. At the bottom of this window is a small window with three of those small boxes. when I clicked on that, it ended the process. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Why are you trying to install the JAPANESE version of SP2?

Color me naieve, but living in San Diego as you are I think it unlikely that you have a JAPANESE language version of FSX installed...  :o

Try using the version with the name fsx_sp2_ENU.msi  8-)

I suspected that that file name  ending with JPN was odd. However, mine was not to question why, mine was just to do or die. Check out the download in the Simviation Flight Simulator X FAQ. Twice I downloaded SP@ from thre and both times I got the file ending with JPN. Try it see what you get. And let me know where I can download the English version.

OMG! Since 12/11/07 that link has been to the Japanese version of SP2?

No wonder so many folks are having problems...  ::)

When SP2 became live, Phil Taylor posted the link to the downloads.

I grabbed the first one not realizing that each download was a different language.
