Daaaang (ETA: Not Cool.)

So, I got Acceleration for Christmas this year, and I'm having trouble landing the Hornet on the deck.

I'm always coming in either too fast or too low. (or, in once case, too fast and too low)

Any tips?

Also, I'm having trouble keeping the Heli in hover to pick up cargo. I can get it into a low hover, but, when I get high enough to actually let the cable connect, I can't keep it steady, and I end up either speeding past the cargo, flipping backwards, being too high, and many other things.

Any help on that also?

ETA:

Ok, so, I'm flying Acceleration, and the Sim closes on me because I haven't registered Acceleration! That is not cool. I gave it the product code and everything....  >:(

Sorry, no help for the helo, you have to train more, that's it. I'm facing the same problems as you, controlling this aircraft is not difficult, but controlling it ENOUGH for this kind of stuff is getting me mad and frustrated... but that's quite a challenge :)

For the Hornet, a good thing for carrier landing is first to think about your fuel. Upon landing, it's not supposed to be more than 20%... or 10%. An heavy plane can't fly slowly. Then I would recommend you trying to make some fake approaches at speeds around 150 or so... let's say, less than 170. play with the flaps and the throttle, see how the plane reacts, see how much it is responsive at which speed. You have first to find a good combination of speed and descend rate before you start to aim at the deck ;)

For the Hornet I would recommend flying the training mission 4 or 5 times and letting the guy talk you through it. When you're comfortable, go up to the next mission to practice.

Helicopters already take a lot of practice to be proficient, so I would imagine that those missions would take some skill to complete.
