Is that a laptop.  Seems way under-specfied.  I guess Nick or others will advise you more accurately, but FSX needs grunt, big time.

Try turning down some settings inside FSX. I would recommend turning off Light Bloom and any shadow options.

Thats a 1.8Gig processor , NOT 3.6Gig

A dual core does not mean you get double the speed

and a 800MHz FSB would indicate itsa an OLD 1.8g processor, not a modern core 2 which runs 1066

It sounds to me like you are overtaxig the system, which by the way the processor and bus is very slow for FSX and the CPU is saturated by the 8800 video adapter, which needs a much faster processor to run correctly.

Thanks Guys I will give that a try, and yes it is a dual core and fsb is 1066 and it is a desktop. Ok correct me if I am wrong........

1. Doesn't Vista only recognize 2GB RAM?

2. Shouldn't a Dual core Intel 1.8 run FSX pretty good?

3. What kind of processor should I have to run a 8800 GTS? (to avoid staurating the processor)

Basically what I am asking is what about my system is under specs for FSX, so that I can uopgrade it?  :)

OK.................Did some searching and I need some opinions here we go:

Choice 1:

 Processor - 1 x Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 / 3 GHz ( 1333 MHz ) will this FSB matter if I am running at 1066 now?

Choice 2:

 Processor - 1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / 2.4 GHz ( 1066 MHz ) FSB matches whatI have now

OK guys chop em up! Please let me know which one you think would be better overall not just for FSX! Thanks a MILLION for your  help!!! ;) ;) ;)
