I wish to caution people about that.. that is a Release Client, not the official Service Pack and as such there may still be issues with it. You may want to wait a few days/weeks till the smoke clears before taking that plunge

Youre thinking the RC1 of Vista itself. What the OP is talking about is RC! for the first Service Pack. I have it installed and its pretty stable, got my 2.8GHz 920 clocked to 3.6 and no issues.

I loaded RC-1 a couple of days ago. I have had a few problems with how it interacts with Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. Kaspersky tells me Simvation is a forbidden URL.

Two advantages I have noticed. It handles large file transfers much better and system shut down time is cut in half.

There is a warning when you download that states RC-1 will have to be removed before SP-1 can be installed. I did a full disc backup (prior to installing RC-1) to an external drive in case I have a problem with the removal.

I just installed it because I will be formatting soon anyways.  Giving me problems already. Asking for some files that I don't have etc.  Hopefully a google search and tell me the file it need. I forget the name but it is an .msi other than that time will tell how she does.
