Vista with DX10

Postby diga » Wed Dec 12, 2007 10:28 pm

I installed Vista Ultimate and it has Directx10 installed. After reading Nick's article I downloaded the new Driver for GeForce8600GT and installed it. Now when I started FSX C172, on the left side I can see some bolts near the propeller fan and there are some reflections on the front and side glass. It looks like when you see things on the Car front glass when driving. Is this normal? I have set the Frame rate to Unlimited.

you mean you are seeing the reflection on something in the glass?

Your description is a bit vague

try a screenshot. Boot the flight and when you see what you are trying to explain on the screen, hit the 'V" key

you will find the image in My\Documents\My Pictures\Flight Simulator X Files

You will need to reduce it to 800x600 and make sure its no larger than 100Kb in JPG format, them post it here like this:

...using the forum 'upload image' menu at the top and copy the code line it gives you from the upload into the post

Come to Australia and tune my computer and game, please, pretty please.

We like Americans.

I want my game to look like that.

Maybe a group of us could band together and raise your fare - at least we can buy you a drink, many drinks!

No! sigh....

What really makes those shots stand out are Nicks edited GEX night lighting textures.

Easy boys

Anthony and I have discussed the mod and right now it looks like it is going to be part of GEX.

The textures are GEX (payware) and the mod I designed for USA & Canada Night Lighting will be available for it soon

You can get Ground Environment X at the Flight 1 website. When the mod is completed it will appear in the GEX interface as an optional download

I did not make the ground textures, I modified the GEX night lighting textures. What you are seeing in the screenshots are GEX daytime textures with the lights beginning to come on as the sun goes down. You can review it here when I was making a beta run of the textures:

The larger images of the screenshots above are at the bottom of the thread

Back to the topic and the original question.. sorry to the person who started the topic., it was not my intention to hijack your thread. Please post a screenshot of what you are seeing so it can be determined what

Hi Nick,

Please see the files.

Everything I see in that image is completely normal

The 4 'bolts' you mentioned are the retainers for the air vent in the side window. The reflections on the glass look correct and yes, that is normal.

you can see the same 'bolts' in this shot...

and you can see the glass reflections in the shots I posted above
