Minor update:

Just tried FS without any drivers installed, same problem.... Perhaps not a driver problem?

I am very much suspecting it is not video card driver related and it was just a coincidence what ever happened occurred just before or right after installing the beta drivers but had nothing to do with that operation.

Install the WHQL drivers and verify

Installed the most recent official drivers (163.75), motherboard drivers and checked I had the latest version of DirectX, same problem, with both FSX and FS9 . Other games are running well though. Perhaps a coincidence. Unfortunately no system restore, turned it off as it is such a resource hog.


I shall make a separate thread soon if I don't manage to fix it, so someone will hopefully have a suggestion on what to do.

Forgot to mention, I couldn't install the 9.1 patch again, it encountered an unknown error, so this is defiantly not driver related, just a coincidence. Trying the FSX repair function now.

Something else has happened and I am not sure what it is.

it sounds like some type of corruption has taken place, exactly where I do not know. I wish I had an answer for you off the top of my head, but I do not at this point. I will think about it and post back if I come up with something.
