Lamont Clark Logbook Editor Instructions

Does anyone have any instructions for Lamont Clark's v0.3 logbook editor?  There are no instructions with the editor and since it is freeware I am not complaining.  I would like to know why there is a logbook editor application file and jar file.  Do I just open either one and then open my FSX logbook and edit as I please?  How do I import my FS9 logbook into the logbook editor?
