Thanks for the heads up - I hope it will end my total whiteout woes I've been getting since SP2 with any pre-SP2 addon plane...I'm hoping it will be driver related... you never know....

I think you misunderstood my comment

Several weeks ago you were ripping into FSX and MS for a poor product. I posted back then what you, and everone else, needed to do in order to get FSX to run correctly. Some of the things you said about the title in terms of how it runs were simply not true and you blew me off my saying something along the lines of "everyone has their own medicine" when referring to the right way to use FSX/Windows and maintain it.

I mentioned in that thread you should try -my medicine- to make the sim work.

In that, I was not "blowing my own horn" when I responded to your comments. When I post methods/processes/settings and updates they are for everyones benefit. Your opinion that day was

[quote]Oh well......Everyone seems to have his own medicine no?.....This program should have been worked and tested much much more and we all would be seeing

Try my medicine... thousands of others have and you do not hear much complaining

Sometimes it is better to read, learn and grow than to assume we know better, or assume we were lied to my MS.

FSX works fine if you would listen to those who know best

Glad to see you have taken the first step in that, which was to upgrade the drivers.

:)

Dear Amico Nick............................

You must not have read all my postings.....If you read the first one on that thread it was about my rinky dink off the shelf Acer and that it was running "fairly" well. I also said that I was enjoying it and that I beleived that it was not necessary to buy an expensive monster to run FSX......I also gave my opinion of a very " hastely programmed version" and of MS having made a great Advertising Campaign etc..etc.... ( you can re-read what I wrote if you like).
In no case did I say I know better. I did say I know software development asince I had to deal with many clients, and "needed" for them to be happy with my work, I Never gave them a product that would work " in   a year or so when the hardware is available". If I would have done that, I would not have been ben honest with them---etc..etc...etc.. ( You can read that again if its of your liking.....)
You know what amigo?.....there are "values and values" one sees them one way and another sees them another way.....it would be a wonderful world if everyone saw them the right way.
Anyways.....I am happy to report to you that your comment about 2 GIG not being "OK" was wrong, since as you can read on the post----I say " happy" not to bash you in any way, it is a happy thing for me, since if you would have been right, I would have had to buy me some other rig since the junky thing I have only accepts 2 !!!!!!-----so you see it  what is bad for one is good for another.
I wish I could know everything but I don

good, lets just leave it at that then and I hope you continue to discover ways to get your rink-dink system to deliver more for you as time goes on.

When you do upgrade, I suggest you may wish to follow my install/optimize instructions just like you should for the older system as they should provide the maximum performance/ability your system will provide.

Unfortunately I am not focused on Vista right now although I do have a preliminary list of optimizing tweaks for it, I can not post something I am not convinced will be beneficial for everyone and am holding off on that end for a while.

and no, I don

Is it 169.09 or 169.21??? I am not saying your wrong, but I have vista and it is 169.21 for vista! I just want to make sure I have the right driver because, my FPS just dropped to like 9-18, last night it was like 22-30. This is a god send, I just want to make sure I will be able to take advantage of it. Thanks for the info. let me know if I am right or wrong about the driver Ver. I am going to install this one for now to see how it works I will report my findings LOL!

Question, how many times.....in lets say a month do you have to defrag to keep FSX running smooth?

Thanks again, and pre-thanks for the answer to the defrag question.

21 is the latest driver. 09 and 13 were the last 2.

I answered your defrag question in the other thread

Last night I downloaded and tried 169.21 but by fps dropped like you mention. So I went back to 169.09 Vista 32 and they went back up again, so I am staying put with it since so far this is the one that really has worked for me. I defrag around every two days or so and it is fast since in two days not much fragmentation happens anyway.....
