The Mustang included with Acceleration is so modified for racing that the engine can produce 150 inches of manifold pressure, stock Mustang can produce 60 inches. Now, anyone want to take a guess what happens when you almost TRIPLE the power the engine is rated for while running it past its rated RPM? It will blow up. Catch fire. Throw a Piston.
Whatever.
For takeoff fly with 60 inches of manifold pressure, you may also be abled to get to around 80 inches without damage. You can also press shift - X to inject Anti Detonation Fluid into the engine which should allow you to run at 146 inches of manifold pressure without damage, and 150+ inches for sprints. However, I am unsure if ADI is only included with the Reno air races.
