Acceleration Problem

Postby daylightla » Thu Nov 01, 2007 4:25 pm

I am pretty sure that I just recked my version of FSX by installing Acceleration.

The trick is that I know that the card is DirectX 9.0 compatable.  Also, the computer is a little over a year old, so I think my card should be okay.  Does anyone know of a way to convince FSX that the card meets the requirments?

If you see a reflecting water FX must be DX9 of course , FSX ran in my other pc wich at the begining with the demo version, I took some shots ,It was a ge-force 440 MX ,FS9 runs ok without any reflecting water, 128ram ,a very old card , If your system tells you This product requires a geForce3wich is a lower and much older card than an MX something must be wrong:

this is very strange unless its lower than 128Ram ,Im tell you this because i've seen this in cards lower than 128RAM

I honestly don't remember if I had reflective water or not.  I was looking through the documentation for the card and it said that it was DX9 compliant and had 128MB of ram.  The computer is just about a year old, so I would assume that the card would be up to date when compared to the older ones.  I have not been able to get back into FSX since installing the software from the CD, so I don't know if it was SP2 or Acceleration.  I cannot even get into the software so I can get my software number to try to contact Microsoft Support for some advice.  Does anyone know if there is a way to uninstall SP2?

That is exactly what I was looking at.  I know that the card is barely at the minimum, but I still cannot figure out why I cannot start FSX.

Noooo! i have the exact same problem. :'(
I wish i would have read this post before getting acceleration.

It worked fine before the installation, i really don't see why it wouldn't run now with acceleration, especially since i wont be running it in dx10.
I was able to get smooth performance and very decent looking graphics with FSX as long as autogen was not in use. (was running 20fps smooth for my settings)

So obviously Acceleration should work on my computer! I wish there was a way to disable the hardware check and force it to run.

Now i have to go and uninstall the whole thing again and reinstall FSX, and get all the settings and add-ons installed again.  >:(

This could be the very first time a not too old video card, according with Daylightla its a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 ,he claims is not old ,and it has 128Ram ,the post above by n4gix wich is an expert in this thing ,gave me the reason ,this is very strange though, let's wait if NickN wich is an expert too in this matter (hardware FSX compatibily ) see this post and read his opinion, I'll send him a PM

Thanks to everyone who has been helping sort this out.  I would just love a way to see the number I need to talk to Microsoft support without having to drop $35 on the conversation.
