Jetway Problem with SP1

Postby Evader DX » Mon Oct 29, 2007 4:55 pm

I'm Evader DX, and I fly lots of planes in FSX
I recently downloaded Service Pack 1, and I noticed that I cannot attach a jetway to my planes anymore.  I've tried every single plane with the jetway feature, and it does not connect.  Is it SP1, or is it me?  My graphics are good enough to see gates, so I don't know the problem.

Any helpful information?  I would like to connect my plane to the gate.

Hello:
You have indicated that you are having a problem with all the planes, so I guess that you are refering to default planes and add-on planes.  Well the only time that I have seen this problem, is when the [Exit]configurations in the aircraft.cfg are not correct.  For example, these are the correct exit configurations for the following default b737-800:
////////
[exits]
number_of_exits = 2
exit.0 = 0.4,  36.6, -5.0,  3.0, 0   //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.1 = 0.4, -38.5,  4.5, -3.0, 1   //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.2 = 0.4,  33.5,  3.5, -4.0, 2   //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
////////
Please note that the above configurations are only for b737-800 in that you will have different configuration depending on the type of plane.

Well when ever I installed sp1, I had to re-adjust some of the settings.

Have you used any programs, like a traffic program?  Because SP1 on its own would not do this, unless as has been suggested the settings have changed or you`re not parked in the right spot.

Well, I tried my settings on high and it still didn't attach.

Plan A = I am assuming that the settings were increased to high and the exit configurations are correct.
So, Plan B will = Check to make sure your key assignments are correct.  Normally, the keys that you press on the keyboard to move the jetway are Ctrl + J.  Nonetheless, enter the control settings and make sure that the keys are assigned properly.

Yes, I use some of the AI from ProjectAI.

As far as I am aware of, ProjectAI did not update their installer to install planes into FSX.  I do know that it is possible to install their AI-planes into fsx with their installer, however some manual changes must be performed to complete the installation.
Anyway, most planes that are made for 2004, either AI or original aircraft, will work in FSX, however they will not attach to the jetway unless you insert the proper exit configurations.
