Acceleration TOMORROW!!!

Postby HugoCampos » Mon Oct 22, 2007 11:19 am

1 Day left until FSX Acceleration. What are your expectations/fears? Are you going to buy it? What do you think will be your favorite part of the expansion?
Let's just talk a bit about all this!

About this acceleration add-on software, beside to bring 3 more planes, what else does it do? will it fix some of the issues of the deluxe planes?

In other news, 3 days until the A380 takes to the skies :P :P

You mean with Passengers?, because I've seen it flying a lot (testing it),Like the first comercial flight of the a380 will be next wendsday..right?

About this acceleration add-on software, beside to bring 3 more planes, what else does it do? will it fix some of the issues of the deluxe planes?

And a new chopper....., it also adds lots of new missions, and a better multiplyer perfomance.

Also the long awaited DX10 support and the SP2.

The SP2 and the DX10 support will be also available through download for free.

Cheers,
Fabian

Irrelevant replies have been removed.... guys, this is the FSX forum, not the whinging about/belittling FSX forum. You don't have FSX and don't want it fine, but don't derail threads in here... you surely know where you can discuss the A380...  ;)

Thanks Fabian_e... :)

Having seen what SP1 did for FSX I'm really looking foward to SP2... and I'm so stoked about how great FSX looks and runs I will probably have to get Accelleration, the planes in FSX may have issues (not had time to discover them yet) but they look great  :)

SP2 will not be available tomorrow unless you get Acceleration.  Acceleration comes with SP2 and the DX10 support, but the stand alone SP2 will not be released for a few weeks (don't know exactly).  Just to let everyone know.

Also, I can't wait for Acceleration.  I had a chance to try the F/A-18 at Oshkosh this year and it was amazing, much better than any of the payware ones out (so far ;)).  The missions also look like loads of fun, so I'm really excited.

Also, I don't know if many people had a chance to see this thread: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1191602991 , but it's 33 pages of Acceleration and DX10 screenshots at another website.  It's well worth a look. ;)

Yes that's right. It will be available as a download for free later this year....
So if you don't need the extra planes / chopper / missions / MP action you can save 40

Ohhh, I forgot: I'll get shadows in the VC aswell with SP2.

BTW: You'll only get the DX10 support when running Vista, right?

The VC shadows are DX10 only, and yes, DX10 is only supported by Vista, which is why I switched this weekend, and I have to say...[smiley=thumbsup.gif]  Wow, Vista is great...:o :)

Acceleration will give me:

DX10 at last .... I have Vista and a DX10 capable video card.  Without them, no DX10
SP2 ... to clean up more performance problems

As to the planes and missions I really don't need them, yet because they are there......

I have Ultimate Terrain X and Flight Environment X installed,  I just wonder how this DirectX10 thing is going to work with these programs.............

Supposedly very well.  The shots I posted the link to the link to were taken while using UTX and FEX. ;)

Important note:
  • DX10 is a preview in Acceleration. Backwards compatibility with existing stuff made for DX9 is not assured by any means.
  • SP2 multiplayer is not compatible with SP1 multiplayer. If you get XPack you can't join multiplayer sessions from normal FSX servers until SP2 is released for it.
See the October 2nd post on Phil's blog for all the details concerning DX10 and SP2:

I hope so,  do we need a fresh install of FSX and SP1.....?

I hope we don't.. I really don't want to have to go through reinstalling all those products again.. Either way, I think it'd be a better idea to do a fresh install, just as it was with SP1.
