Prob not.

I run an pentium 4 overclocked to 4GHz,  A Gforce 8600gt overclocked, sounblaster sound card, 3 Sata raptor drives, 2 gigs DDR2 mem, all of which with exception of Ram, is above that Gatway.  Mines built up from one that is a model or two higher than that one to begin with, and although I get decent FPS with DX10, it's not without tradoffs such has zero AI air traffic, minimum ground traffic, tweaked autogen, very little weather, and minimal water (lowx2).  Even then, some cities slow me to a crawl at times.  This is after a fair performance boost from DX10.
That machine may, and I stress may, get your foot in the door, but you'll need to invest in aftermarket hardware to get it smooth with good fps.  Even then, you won't be maxing out your settings.  Alot of your settings will be low to medium.  At that point you might has well be flying FS2004.

Well you're certainly not getting the best out of your machine then. While I don't run maxed out, FSX looks far better than FS9, with smooth gameplay (FPS in the low 20s), with a P4 3GHz, 1Gb DDR2, a slower hard drive (God knows what) and a GeForce 7600GT.

Tweaked, yes, but worth it.

Well then Im currently running FSX on a very slow computer with a nividia GeForce 440MX or somthing like that lol. Now the computer i am looking at is dual core dont you think that the 2 cores running a a combined 4.0Ghz would be able to do it.

For what you're asking for, it won't be enough to handle. Try in the range of $1200.

Wanna save some money and get a real workhorse... try getting AMD... Right now I have a dinosaur and I am running everything at full with an NVDIA 7600 GT OC and getting descent framrates... how much well i cant tell you because I dont know to find out the REAL number.  I have an Athlon 64 X2 (dual core) 3800+ (old stuff) with 3 gigs, the above mentioned video card and it is very nice.  Granted I am running XP with DX9, but still very good.

Not a bad PC  ;)

I just dont like pentium, AMD does more for me I guess.

The graphics card might also be a little bit of a problem.

I would also maximise the mobo's RAM limit, namely 4gig.

Other then that its fine, buying this pc wont get you the best flight experience, but it would be a foot in the door.

The PC seems to be able to run FS9 well but FSX I think needs a faster processor.

Read this thread and I think you'll get the idea of a machine that could run FSX decently. ;)
