I'm a rookie in the world of add-ons.............is it possible to use FSX add ons in FS2004??

Not if they're proper FSX addons with all the latest features. Otherwise there wouldn't be any point in going to all the trouble of updating it.

No.

MOdels and objects (I just tried today) made to FS-X SDK compliance will not work in FS2004.
