You can use any panel in any plane you so desire, you could even put a cesna panel in a B747 if you desired But why you would want to is beyond me. I mean stop and think about it almost every freeware plane you down load will use a panel from another plane. I would sugest that instead of alising the panel you just place the entire panel folder inside of the aircraft folder you want. The only thing is realism so I would not want the panel of a B737 in a B757 even though they are both two engine air craft in the real world they each have a different panel so I would try to keep it as realistic as I could But that is just me. 8-)

2D panels will generally work in any aircraft as the .bmp and gauges are mapped to screen coordinates.

VC's (3D panels) differ in that the panel image is called from the model and gauges mapped to model coordinates. VC gauges generally will not show properly when copied from another aircraft.

FSX has introduced the separation of the exterior and interior models. With aircraft having interior models it might be possible to copy a working VC.... Here is a previous topic on this possibility http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1191458550

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Make sure the new panel folder has the exact same name as the one you removed.

FSX determines whether an ac is flyable or ai by looking for a valid panel folder. The folder name must match the aircraft.cfg file's 'panel=' value(s). If it doesn't find one, it assumes the ac is ai only and removes it from the flyable ac selection list.
