The old Cargo door in FSX question

Postby Nelson » Sat Oct 06, 2007 5:21 am

hi guys,

I have searched alot and keep reading that this is done with SHIFT + E + 2 , but this simply opens the  SHIFT+2 panel/gauge and at the same time opens the SHIFT+E main door , without opening the cargo door that exists on most of the Aircraft I have.   I read this is an FSX issue and even saw (somwhere) a gauge one can add to make the cargo door open , but this did not work when I installed it.  In fact the gauge did not even appear.

Anyone able to help me open those darn cargo doors.....yeah I know I should just fly the thing but for those groovy screen shots it can be nice to have the plane parked and a few doors open  8-)

is it possible I can edit the .cfg file to make all the doors open with the single SHIFT+E command ?    I see some of my Aircraft have cargo doors , bomb bay doors , hatches mentioned in their read me files , and the always refer to "SHIFT+E+2" which simply does not work as intended / described.   Also in the controls / key assignments  section , there is of course the SHIFT+E assignment , and can use Tailhooks ok , but there is no option to set "open cargo doors / other doors"

what have I missed , any suggestions ?
thanks in advance.

Remember - the Cargo door has to be modelled to open in the particular mode/aircraft in the first place.  Just because it's painted on doesn't mean it actually opens....

You must press SHIFT+E then QUICKLY 2, or 3, or any other number the door is aliased to. ;) If you do it all at the same time, it opens the panel. :) Don't wait to long! About a half second delay (possibly less) is needed. :)

Beat me to a post will you Felix? Acquiring tone! *Fire*  8-)

ahh , yes I read this and tried it....I will try that again then , short pause , then 2.  not all at the same time.  Thanks guys.

and yeah this is with aircraft that clearly have in the .cfg  "number of exits"  and shows multiple doors.

also read must have pressed ALT button first to open the taskbar , is that required before trying the above porcess ?

thanks for your speedy reply !
