Airbus 321 Rudder

Postby Ravang » Tue Jul 24, 2007 1:41 pm

Everyone knows that the A321's rudder doesn't work in flight is there a fix for this problem, or could someone work on a fix for it because it's quite annoying  :P

everyone knows?   I didn't, and I quite often fly the A321.  Sure you just don't have autorudder on?

My autorudders off, and the rudder works fine on the ground, then when I takeoff it stops moving and has no control at all, what version of FSX do you have I have the normal version. :P (too cheap to by deluxe) :P

the only things different in the two versions are number of detailed airports, aircraft and tower controller,  the A321 is the same in both. or it should be  ;)

If you ask me the whole a-320 is messed up i was doing depature stall in the other day and i could not get it to stall.... yes i know the Fly by wire computer dose not let you stall the thing. but then i level off and and throttle down and my engiens are still running full blast. so i check my auto pilot and the auto throttles are lock in at like 430 knts but i cant shut it off it was crazy.

Probably seems like a stupid question, but what exactly is autorudder?

believe it or not, its meant to be like that.
it is working on a weight on wheels system.
just turn the flight computers off, then you will have rudder, and also the maneuverability of the extra.
and to be honest, i've never really used the rudder when flying the airbus. i mean i thought i was using it, and i never really noticed it was missing until someone mentioned it.

Search function is up the top. ;) I made a topic about how the flight computer literally crashes the plane a few weeks ago.

As Chris said, turn off the flight computers. It will now handle like a Su-27 more than anything. Its possible to pull Pugachev's Cobra in it.

It's in the realism settings. It will automatically appy rudder to coordinate turns, for those with no rudder pedals or rudder-twist in the joystick (or for people don't want to be bothered with using the rudder)..

The A321 is not supposed to have a controllable rudder. The flight computers control it for you. As it has been said you can turn them off and it'll fly just like the other planes... but that won't be 'As Real as it Gets'. No pilot would turn the flight computers off in real life.
The not being able to stall problem, well, that's not a problem! The flight computer was designed not to let you stall. Why would you want to stall a commercial airliner anyways?!?

i think i have this setting on, and never really thought about it...when i try to land and make corrections with the rudder (am I right to think that using the rudder will slide the plane side to side to make small corrections on final?), nothing happens in any of the planes.  Is this the autorudder compensating for what I am doing?

Oh, I didn't know that you made a topic about this, because I though it was a .AIR file problem or something :), as for the flight computers controlling the rudder in flight I'm not sure  :-?because in flight I can't get it to make a coordinate turn, and it ends up slipping in the turn, and most of the time messing up my turn to finale  >:( :)
