Help! I can't find Eagle Field

Postby Bob70 » Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:49 pm

I just installed this package in FSX and it works fine.

FS2004 Stearman Kaydet and Eagle Field Scenery Package. This is a *mostly* new model for FS2004. Model includes 6 new texture choices and models: U.S. Navy N2S-2, Navy N2S-3, PT-13A Pre WWII USAAC, PT-13D USAF, RCAF and civilian colors. Also includes additional scenery of Eagle Field - fictitious field near old Stearman Factory in Wichita, KS. Model, panel and gauges by David Eckert, FDE by Dennis Seeley and scenery by Mark Smith. 17.3MB

I can't find Eagle Field. It installed in my scenery library with no problem. I just don't know where to fly to find it in Wichita, KS. It don't show up in the airport list I guess because it's a fictitious field. Can anyone give me a reference location that's it's close to?

Have you actually activated the scenery?

Bob,

If you have the scenery properly installed and activated in your scenery library:

7KS9-Eagle Field-Bentley, KS, should be in your Goto Airport list and in the map and GPS. Eagle Field has an NDB, 7KS9, at 212.0

It is located 12nm NW (337*) of KICT and 1.5nm SE (150*) of SN62.

For the most part this FS9 scenery displays properly. The FS9 Afcad file displaces the runway slightly. If you see black objects, these are trees. Either disable/remove the 'EagleTrees.bgl' in the ..\Eagle Field\scenery\.. folder or goto the main..\\Texture\.. folder and copy four files to the ..\Eagle Field\texture\..folder

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks Dave

Yep, I found it. I was looking for it in the go to airport list for Wichita, KS. I would never have looked under the town of Bentley without your help. I did read the read me file. Did I miss something on locating the airport? I didn't see anything about Bentley. Well you saved the day. Thanks again.

Just a question: How do you activate scenery??

Do you have to do this to get Runway12 scenery to work?

Bowler_man,

To activate a new add-on scenery: After you have installed the new scenery you must start the sim. Goto Settings>Scenery Library and click on the 'Add Area' button. In the browse window, find the new folder containing the new scenery, click on the folder and then click on 'OK'. You should now see the new scenery at the top of the Scenery Area list.

If you install scenery that uses Rwy12 library objects, you must have the Rwy12 'Static Objects Library' installed, and you have to activate it in the Scenery Library, same as above.
