That makes good sense.. and try to remember.. I'm not shooting for any type of "this is a good  bla bla bla".. just thinking that maybe there could be a hardware baseline for comparison. It wouldn't matter that your scenery wasn't how you like it, or that for the sake of the test that you sacrifice something from your normal setup and gain something somewhere else, quality wise...

None of that matters... and it's all personal.. I was just looking for a reference point to compare hardware configurations.. that's all.. and FPS is the only non-subjectice reference..

N-mind.. I'm getting a head-ache  lol    :P

I knew it wouldn't be easy.. and there are just TOO many variables that really shouldn't be messed with (like drivers)...  I've found through experimenting and O/C-ing that you can't always get back to that sweet spot..   ;)

Gotcha sir!

I understand. Looking at the hardware benchmarks posted at Toms in the link provided by PTaylor, something about that doesnt add up either

they dont mention if they were taken from SP1 or RTM and some of those numbers just dont seem right

Its the frae lock thing that does not compute for me. FSX seems to throttle based on that but as I said I am not sure, just looking at how my system responds to it.

I can try your settings and see what happens but I need to know a few things..

drivers? are they default?

FSX.cfg... does this want to be clean with no edits or tweaks other than monitor support? (I use a wide screen)

scenery... I will need to disable UTX if this needs to be done on the default scenery. I also use FSGenesis mesh but I cant disable that because it installs direct and without a scenery config entry, all I can do is reduce the slider from 10m to your suggestion.

Oh no.. you'll lose your sweet-spot and blame ME   :P

Sometimes my ideas are bigger than a method to implement them. It's just so incredibly hard to share meaningful performance data with other simmers..
