Newbie with a problem

Postby -m@tt-4576 » Thu Jul 12, 2007 2:03 pm

Hey everyone. Can't tell you guys how much this site has revived flight simulator X for me. I love All the wonderful planes and helicopters that have been put up here.

But, every time some exciting things come around seems like theres also some bad things that come with them. Anyway now to the point.
I don't know If anyone has had theses problems but I've noticed on most of my add-on planes theres some totally black textures. Like the black hawk and Sea hawks rotor things are all black and the cockpit on other planes are totally black except for the pilot. I looked in the files and some things came back saying "drawing Failed" So I'm not sure about what to do there. If anyone knows why please reply [smiley=smiley.gif] .

Also, I installed the FSX SP1 and it seemed like it accutaly made everything look bad. :( I had some planes and a couple scenery files in the game when I installed it, but I don't think that would mess with the game.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear from you all.  ;D

I too have experienced that in some of my downloads I downloaded a blue/white Howard 500 that has a black tail instead of a blue/white one. I read somewhere it has to do with the textures. I really like this texture too 8-)

I'll be following this thread. Hope someone can help you (and me). Thanks for bringing it to the forum's

Same here. Like Mike Stone's C-17 has blacked out engines and the cockpit is black too. Same with Alrot's Citation X. The plane is awesome, but I can't stand flying it when the whole VC is blacked out.

It's funny though, because sometimes when you load the add-on aircraft with texture problems the textures appear for about a split second, then they disappear.

I'll be following this thread too.

Seems to me Microsoft F****d something up.

It's simply missing compatibility.

No one f+cked anything up. Neither Aces, not the model designers.

Not without editing the models.

thats weird seen as how the skins were made for the models..

Anyway Ive got another quick question. I know that to upload a repaint you should get the authors permission. But what if you just want to post screen shots of a repaint you made? is that okay?

Well instead of starting A new topic I'll just reuse this one seen as how it kinda fits with the overall problem.

I installed SP1 and after I did that it seemed like the overall world graphics quality dropped like a rock.
This is graphics set above ultra high.

Tell me whats wrong...Its sad to look at. I had a couple scenery things installed when I ran SP1 install so I dont know it that would have messed it up.
Ive looked at the screenshot entry contest and I know the graphics get a lot better.

I guess everything looked better before, eh?

Have you had your FSX tweaked before you installed SP1?

I had some thing to make trees look better and there was another thing that someone recommended to another new guy a couple days ago but I forgot what it was.

But I'm going to go ahea, reinstall it, stick in SP1 and then my old files. I'll post again and let everyone know if it works right

Yeah that was it and it was you.
But it still doesn't work correctly. it seems like the graphics are only partly loaded or somthing.
They used to go like that for a quarter of a second every few minutes of flight. Now they just stay like that. Which sucks because its gonna be hard for me to find a good shot for the contest.  :(
Anybody have any Ideas on what to do?

Also, to have the SDK SP1 you need the deluxe edition right?

also in scenery library Default scenery and terrain are at the bottom. Is that something that may have caused this?
