BitDefender is said to be the best anti-virus/malware/spyware out in the market. Norton is ranked 7th according to what I've read, although I do like Norton a lot. It gives great protection. But yea it does eat up resources like crazy.

I like Vista far more then I did XP, as per the frame rate, at the time I got Vista I upgraded my graphics card too so I wouldint be able to say if I am getting less frame rates using XP.

Vista is great, even the most basic home version.

64 bit? I have a 64 bit processor and chose to avoid vista 64 bit mainly because of compatibility issues. Many programs don't run on 64 bit operating systems.

Yeah, Vista is awesome, I have a 64 bit with an Nvidia 8800 (gfx 768 mbs) and 6 gigs of RAM and FSX runs pretty good even without SP1. One thing though: you might wanna follow the Nvidia driver tips on this site, then FSX will run like a charm.

Overall, I think you should get a Vista. Trust me, it's worth it and its TONS better than XP :)
