If my memory serves me right u either have to land to the left or right of the private jet parked at the airport.

After you pick up the people from the building, you have to land the heli by the CRJ, then you'll have an option of either following them or ending the mission, and if you choose to follow then you'll be in the Lear 45 following them.

it appears only in the mission. If you fly there in free flight mode, you won't see it.

Could it be possible to make it a permanent fixture? Somehow find the texture, mesh, etc. files and putting it into an add-on scenery file?

Would be nice, 'cause its quite a challenge landing between those rocks on a floating runway --> much fun!

I have flown this mission (yes the whole thing) and the island is off the east coast of Japan, it has a long runway with a really challenging but fun approach. At the end of the runway there is a huge hangar built into the rock face. The aircraft which you have to follow parks inside the hangar. There is a warf too and parked there is the Caspian Sea Monster. I reackon it would be a good idea to make this scenary for free flight if possible. This is a great mission and I recommend you to fly if you haven't already.

Cheers :)

I don't know how the mission system handles its sceneries, if they are just simple objects placed according to the mission definition, or if they are real and complete sceneries that are activated only by the mission itself.

However, if I remember well, I think there's something on the map that helps finding the island position, even in freeflight mode. You know, those pink points on the map, with a radio frequency... I'm not too sure anymore, but I think there's something...

Could it be... You know, sometimes there are some sceneries which activate only at a certain date in the sim.
Maybe one could check the choosen date during the mission, and they try to fly there in free flight with the same date ?

The files are there. I'm sure all we have to do is find the texture and scenery files and see where we can put them.

For the person who said that nothing happened when you started the mission, Ive had that happen.  I started, nobody told me to do anything and I couldn't get the mission compass, Its a glitch.  I don't remember how I fixed it but I either tried multiple times, or did a FSX re-install.

:D  It's definately a glitch.  I've tried everything imaginable but still nothing.  That included re-install, check the key control, boot the mission several dozen times, etc.  I've even changed key assignments.  Someone inquired about the date and time of the mission.  It's in the mission folder, pilot for hire, Tokyo Exec files.

:D   No, not yet but I did figure out how to get the mission to work.  I deleted it from the missions/pilot for hire section and reran disk one and clicked repair.  Lo and Behold, it's back and works like a champ.  I'll see you at the secret island.
