More planes and the SDKs if you ever plan on designing anything for it.

also, the Deluxe version gives you more high detail airports and cities....

I think the standard has only 30 high detail airports and deluxe has 60 but im not sure.

And you get more missions, standard has less missions than deluxe....

Only question is cost...  I mean, I have a best Buy gift card but won't the Deluxe Edition cost $60?  Hopefully my parents will help pay for it...  I'm a miser when it comes to cash.

If I had a son wanting to spend money and time on flight simulator I would be proud.  It is far better than the range of expensive and sad options available these days.  Good luck.

Thanks yah I could use the excuse that it's one of the only things I'm able to do.  I fractured a vertebre in my lower back playing baseball, football, and boxing.  Been out since September.  3 months of this base and hopefully it'll have healed to play fallball.  I'ma gonna get fat  :'(.  Anyways, yah it'll ge a good excuse when I'm not having band practice with my friends.  can't do anyting else with them, so all I've been doin was sittin at home playing FS2004.

Read up on some real world flying stuff and spout a bit of it in front of them.  Tell them you`d really like to investigate it further and its more educational than a game.  That should about do it, not far from the truth either.....  IFR and VFR flights might do it, tell them its cheaper than flying lessons too.

You should definately get FSX according to your specs. I have the same CPU, just look at my specs in my signature. Get the Deluxe Edition for sure, Standard is just not worth it. Do a little tweaking and you'll have an orgasm in your eyes with FSX.

Sorry about your back lol
