:D  This won't be any help, but mine does the same thing.  Especially when loading the flight.  I just learned to live with it.

Guys that is a NVIDIA driver issue. Go into the FSX graphic settings under the "aircraft" tab and UNCHECK the option to show gauge and cockpit tootips.

No more flashing, white screen or hanging when cycling through the views.

Mine does it too.  It happens whenever I switch into the panel view.  If not immediately when I switch to the panel, it happens when I click one of the options.  THanks for the help!

I just downloaded the new drivers and that seemed to start after I installed them.  I shouldn't uninstall them should I?

This is a great tip. I've notice the flashing on and off over the past few months. Sometimes it's there/sometimes not. Maybe I was clicking on/clicking off the cockpit toolkits. I use to think it was a particular aircraft that did the flashing.

However, I think there's some drawbacks to unclicking this function. I unclicked it last night and notice that a fraction of the bottom of the screen goes away and shows the startup button and the clock. When pressing F9-F12, the screen would freeze, but you could still hear the engine sound and you would have to save the flight, stop the flight and load it again. This may be a driver issue. I'm no expert in this area.

On the positve side of clicking off the cockpit toolbar, I notice the menu bar will disappear more quickly when you press Alt/Enter. Also, the cockpit view on the upper right hand side will also disappear more quickly. I hate waiting for it to disappear just to get a screenshot.

Since I fly the Howard 500, I use the throttle function (Shift F4) to throttle back to 77% on climbing to altitude, and throttling back to 50% for cruising around 270kts, given the weather conditions. This isn't guessing. It is the recommended speed for cruising. For decent, I cut back to 40%. Without the cockpit toolbar, I can only guess where the throttle should be at various times, although I know where 50% throttle is. That being the case, I'll deal with the white flashing.
