elevator flutter on float planes?

Postby gren » Sun Jun 17, 2007 8:15 am

Can anyone help me pls. When I am sitting with engines off on the water the elevators are fluttering. This is visual with external view as you can see them moving :-/ and in cockpit view the control column is also moving. This movement is then passed through to my joystick. I can not seem to find a way of stopping this.

Looks very much like a force-feedback issue.

First, try to find any new drivers for your flightstick.
If this doesn't work, disable force-feedback in FSX.

Thanks chaps, no auto pilot is off and the plane is all shut down. I shall have a look at drivers but the flight stick is following what the plane is doing. If I hold the flight stick still the graphics are still showing control column and surface movement. :-/

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack
1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.

Try disabling force-feedback in the sim then.

listen to these guys man they are smart it IS a force feedback issue - happened to me in some other sims in the past but i dont have force feed back anymore for it to happen - just try turning force feed back off if nothing else seems to help.

if you have the microsoft force feed back you can always unplug the AC power cord from the joystick if all else fails.

Hey thanks for the info chaps, I have turned off the retracting gear part of the force feedback options and the flutter has gone. I shall now try updating the drivers but at least for now I can bob up and down in piece!! Thanks again :)
