SP1

Postby Ghostrider114 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 11:40 pm

I have been having quite a bit of slow down since I got the SP, it seems that now, everything has to reload every time the camera moves, which basically means I am flying a slideshow, and it seems to take airports several minutes to load sometimes.  is there any way to fix this, or barring that, revert to pre servicepack1 without reinstalling?

Go to Add or Remove Programs and click include updates and Microsoft Flight Simulator X SP1 should come up. Shame you have to do this though. :-[

It does seem something serious.  Most of us have had problems getting SP1 smooth but it has improved framerates and performance for practically all.  Did you do a full unistall:  then did you go into My Computer\C\...Microsoft Flight simulator X and delete the entire flight sim folder there?  This can be very large, and in my experience can have stuff in it that can interfere with SP1.    Most of us think uninstalling the program through the control panel does the job, but you need to go into My Computer and clean up there.  Most of us put in texture mods and these have to go, and the way to do that is a clean reinstall of the program. Also if you have some aircraft add-ons uninstall them too.  It is a pain in the derriere but these can alter some dll files that are essential in their original form. Then do a clean reinstall of FSX after which you can install SP1. Good luck.

After that join the next round of tweaking - or buy a large defence department computer to get the processing power that you need to get this smooth.
